NWG held the Quarterly Board Meeting 2/20/15 in Seward at LaCarreta.
Board members and guests discussed many items currently in NWG radar including the upcoming Spring Conference, the State Fair, our growing membership and ways to adjust the organization and membership renewal plus the usual reviews of minutes, finances, chair duties, all that which makes any organization run effectively.
Spring Conference details with board members and volunteers working away getting everything in order are nearly finished. Watch the next broadside, out very soon, for registration or use the links on this blog or our http://nebraskawriters.org to sign up. Space is limited so sign up soon. Also, if you’re booking the hotel, remember to mention that you’re with the Nebraska Writers Guild to get our block discount.
Our quarterly Broadside is in the final stages. If you’ve got news or information for inclusion, please send to NWG secretary, Annette Snyder.
The NWG state fair booth is ready. Thanks to State Fair chairs, Charlene Neely and Jeanette Bjerrum. Both have terrific and innovative ideas to get the Guild full attention. They mentioned the fair booth could be fuller at the onset of the fair if members got their exhibit donations to them pre-fair. As a suggestion, members wishing to have their work displayed at the fair and those also attending Spring Conference should bring that work along and give to one of the organizers. Bringing State Fair samples to Spring Conference allows fair organizers to create a full display at the onset of the fair allowing more booth visitors to see what Nebraska Writers Guild members have to offer. Read more about this in the upcoming broadside.
You can read the full report of the First Quarter Board Meeting Minutes in the upcoming Broadside or by logging on to our website. A public version of the NWG Board Meeting minutes is available for viewing there.
